Ron Mazier

Bio

Louisiana Real Estate Broker Ron Mazier has a master’s degree in economics. After graduation, Ron worked for the Louisiana Department of Social Services where he handled the welfare and food stamp cases of 400 families. In 1998, he co-founded and ran a subscription-based stock market trading website. He earned a real estate license in 1989 and since earning a Louisiana broker’s license in 2002, he purchased an ongoing brokerage, managed the #4 office in the city, then established another independent brokerage which he still runs. In 2016, he became executive director of a nonprofit Lower 9th Ward Neighborhood Empowerment Network Association (9thWardNENA.org). The organization was founded as a community development corporation immediately after Hurricane Katrina. After becoming debt burdened, Ron took over the organization and was able to turn it around. Ron and a growing number of volunteers are developing plans and programs ranging from real estate development to food and urban agriculture. He remains active in various committees and teams for the National Association of REALTORS (NAR), Louisiana REALTORS (LR), the New Orleans Metropolitcan Assocition of REALTORS (NOMAR), and Lower 9th Ward Community Development Organizations. He has served as an adjunct lecturer in economics at Tulane University. Ron is married over 25 years with 2 children.
